“INTRINSIC” Inaugural NFT collection by Ippolito
“Don’t be precious with the work.”
Over the past 25 years of my life as an artist, this phrase has been repeated. And though my love for art has always been strong and my dedication to creating has never wavered, the art industry has always looked favorably upon art socialites (which I am certainly not). I do not create for recognition. I do not create to make friends. In fact, I prefer to be left alone to paint, play piano, garden and spend time with my family.
When my wife suggested I try NFTs last year, I laughed. Who would want to buy my works of fantasy, monsters and zombies? But now I see that there may be a place for me in this new art world after all.
This inaugural collection “INTRINSIC” is a bit of personal retrospective, representing thousands of hours exploring shape, texture and motion. You will find that some works are complete and others are ideas not fully explored. But I will share all and won’t be precious any longer.
I. The first 300 works are currently minted on aiRight.io, Oraichain’s NFT marketplace. These NFTs are all unique 1 of 1 artworks. Once they are listed for sale officially, all files will be deleted from my computer. This will give the NFT owner real ownership of the artwork and the freedom to use it as they please. Full commercial and reproduction rights.
II. I have considered NFT utility carefully and will work to provide many benefits to buyers including airdrops of new art and music that I create, access to a tokenized gallery on aiRight and potentially NFT staking.
III. NFT owners will have the opportunity to request commissioned artworks a bit later this year. Details on this will be ready when I have decided the best format.
IV. If the collection is successful, I will look to give DAO rights to my holders and help steer potential projects I create in the future. Again, please be patient as I decide the best format to offer this opportunity.
I am extremely grateful for the early support of the Oraichain, aiRight and NFT community. I look forward to sharing many works with the world for years to come.
